I'm Raffael, a Brazilian software engineer based in Portugal. I enjoy turning ideas into products and acting as the bridge between technical and business teams. I currently lead the software development team at Kito Health.
I graduated in IT from Unit (Universidade Tiradentes) in 2019. A lifelong gamer at heart, I bring that same curiosity and playfulness into crafting great software.

Responsive multimedia website I built individually within a group project for the Multimedia Lab at the University of Porto.
Another responsive multimedia site crafted solo within a group project for the Master in Multimedia at the University of Porto.
Machine-learning application that predicts student dropout before it happens, targeting 80%+ accuracy. My final undergraduate thesis project.
Chatbot integration built on IBM Watson, connecting multiple student project groups through a shared conversational API.
Where I've worked and what I built there.
Own the full software life-cycle as both a manager and a developer: depending on the phase, I code alongside the team or run management and pull request reviews — architecture, the technical definition of the products and every release are always mine. Joined as a Software Engineer in 2021, took over the team in 2022 with 5 people, and since 2025 I lead a team of 8. (JavaScript, Node.js, React, Express, MongoDB, AWS)
Set the engineering standards for the startup (Git, AWS, Trello, Slack) and built its first responsive product in React. Later delivered a custom e-commerce platform, migrating from WooCommerce/PrestaShop to an in-house build with PHP, Laravel and MySQL.
Built features, fixed bugs and wrote unit tests for a major regional bank's software across front-end and back-end, working directly with the project's APIs in biweekly Scrum/Kanban sprints. (C#, ASP.NET, MVC)
Recorded and edited the studio's video content and researched new media tools to build the company's blog and website. (WordPress, Adobe Premiere)
